From crystal clean to absolute high gain and everything in between, this 2 channel, hand build all tube preamp delivers. You will just need some time and fiddling to figure out its sweet spots, but as soon as you find them you will have a huge arsenal of sounds, to play everything you want. Metallica, Nirvana, Dream Theater, The Who are just a small sample of great bands with legendary tones who used it both in studio and live. I personally own one for about ten years now and although it's made at 1989 and still running on the original tubes, it never let me down and I don't think it will any time soon. Its notorious, American made Mesa Boogie build quality, is beyond any criticism. All in all, a great sound unit ready for recording, live shows or your bedroom, this thing is an absolute tone beast!! 50 Watts per Channel, Class A/B Power / 4x6L6, 3x12AX7. Independent Volume & Presence Controls per Channel.

Vintage Mark-series voicing (sounds great). Mesa Boogie Studio Preamp - Vintage early 90's. In this compact, rack-ready package youll find all the basic tones that made Boogie famous clean, warm, smooth rhythm sounds; a screaming, vicious Lead voice; and enough control to produce anything in between. The Preamp is simple and straightforward, yet sophisticated. Like all other Boogies, its based on a no compromise, all-tube circuit with traditional style tone controls and instant Lead/Rhythm footswitching.

It includes a 5 band graphic EQ for tone customizing; a carefully tweaked, deep-sounding 3-spring reverb; a stereo effects loop that can accommodate either low-level or line-level effects; and two pairs of stereo outputs including Recording Outputs with speaker-simulator circuitry, which will mate perfectly with either a mixing console or the front end input of most guitar amps. Similar to Mesa MarkII/III/IV/V sounds possible- the preamp was originally designed from the Mesa Mark IIC+. 2 footswitchable channels, switchable EQ and Reverb, stereo FX loop, stereo outs with separate volume controls, stereo recording outs (for recording without power amp/cab).

I was using running the unit with a loop switcher into the return of a Mesa Mark V as an extra crunch and lead channel, but no longer require that many different sounds so the preamp is up for sale to someone who'll really enjoy it. A 2 channels shared EQ.

2 main outs + 2 recording outs. 1 12ax7 for the reverb tank.
