Here we have a solid player, perhaps the last of the best D35's. Lovely figuration on the rosewood.
She was made when Martin were just switching from the remainder of their Brazilian rosewood build-stock to the Indian rosewood they used on later D35's through the 70's. Don't believe the hype about 70's Martins, true some were destination firewood, and (allegedly) built by the management instead of luthiers, when the real workers left the shop floor on strike, yet this is a good example with no intonation issues, they didn't just let any fool in a suit loose to spoil a thousand dollars of exotic wood, unlike in our shop!! Seriously though, this guitar has a lot more going for it than any of the newer builds they hash out, rest assured. Pre truss rod era neck straight. Frets in good order, levelled a time or two yet plenty of use left.
High grade materials, ebony fretboard, sitka spruce top, brazillian/indian rosewood body. So this is a beautiful piece with some interesting honest wear and a couple of little cosmetic fixes, two areas of the binding have cosmetic restoration as pictured otherwise no cracks, damage or repairs. Cosmetically she is certainly not mint, lightly roadworn and it has to be said still really very good for a 52 year old players guitar, as pictured under different lighting conditions to give a fair idea of wear.
Recent neck reset work ensures good playability and low action well into the future, pro job and very clean work. We are supplying this guitar in a Martin hard case as pictured, professionally packaged.
