Rickenbacker 330/12 12 string semi- acoustic guitar (m, Aug 1989) Right Handed
Rickenbacker 330/12 12 string (1989). Right Handed 12 String Fireglo semi-hollow guitar Condition is "Used". Brought 2nd hand in New Zealand in 1996. Guitar had previously been bought brand new by a friends/former bandmate in 1989. Guitar has recently had a set up and cleaning of the frets. There is a repair on the headstock, where a split in the wood has been reapplied. (see pics) The repair was carried out by a professional luthier, Peter Stephen in Lyttelton, NZ. This happened before I bought it and it has never caused me any issues with tuning or playing. It is a completely effective repair. The guitar itself, plays very well and the fretboard has a nice manageable feel to it. The main issue with the repair is one of resale rather than of playing reliability (thus the low price). The other major issue is that the famous'R' tailpiece broke about 10 years ago from tension. I had it replaced with a more standardised tailpiece about 4 years ago and had the guitar professionally serviced, including having the action looked at and the frets were given a good cleaning and filing. There a few blemishes to the finish and belt buckle wear on the back as well as the varnish around the edge of the top of the guitar worn away from the picking/strumming arm. Guitar case has a small tear in the felt and as it was used for gigs, has duct-tape around its corners (see photos) but the case is in a good solid condition and the handle is fine. The guitar has not been played very much at all over the past decade but was used for gigs and recording sessions in the late 90s and through the early 200s. In that time, it has always played very well and is a joy to play. Preference is for collection from London E17 but can probably arrange to meet in central London. If you are looking for a good, solid Rickenbacker 12 string semi-acoustic, this is a reasonably priced one (for the two reasons of the headstock repair and the loss of original tailpiece) Please contact me with any questions or if you wish to see more photos. I would prefer collection up from house but can get a quote for courier dispatch to UK address upon request.
