With the seventh offering from our Builder's Reserve program, we fully indulge mahogany's appealing musical character with an all-mahogany 12-Fret coupled with Taylor's first-ever all-mahogany ukulele. Incorporating mahogany tops brings out the fullness of mahogany's voice, blending a punchy attack with plenty of tonal warmth. This particular guitar has a tiny bit of scuffing in the finish where the neck meets the body, and there is a tiny fleck of gray color in the finish of the binding along the treble side waist.
Aside from what we have described, this instrument is in mint condition. We have given this a thorough check and setup.
Truthfully, these Taylors hardly require any setup at all, but we give them all the attention they deserve. This one is playing beautifully at 3/32 at the 12.
Fret on the low E and 2/32 on the high E without buzz. The optional pickguard is included in the case. This is a very resonant guitar that you feel against your body while playing. The low mids are especially warm and present, and the guitar is very responsive to tonal changes as you move your right hand nearer and farther from the bridge. The voice is beautiful for both strumming and fingerstyle with nice clarity and resonance on the top end that pairs wonderfully with the rich midrange.
The Taylor hard case pictured is brand new and included. Shape: 6-string Grand Concert (no cutaway). Finish: Gloss, shaded edge burst.Bridge: Ebony with ebony bridge pins and a wave-compensated bone saddle. Binding: Ivoroid and standard B/W/B/W/W/B white fiber.
