Maton "The Australian" EA80C Dreadnought 2006 Natural Gloss Electro-Acoustic Guitar. Here for sale we have a Maton "The Australian" EA80C Dreadnought Electro-Acoustic Guitar from 2006.

The Maton "Australian" is the culmination of the Australian company building guitars from Australian timber for over 50 years. The scale length of this guitar is 25.5 inches with a nut width of 1.736 inches. The "AA Select" grade solid Sitka Spruce top adds a real brightness to the warmth of the Blackwood back and sides, giving the guitar a really full and punchy sound with lots of clarity.

Single notes really cut through the mix and chords feel tight and well-balanced. The Maple neck feels good in the hands and is paired with a beautiful Rosewood fingerboard making it really easy to move up and down the neck. The controls allow you to tailor your guitar's amplified tone to suit you and allows you to dial in the right tone to cut through the mix in a live or studio performance.

Model - "The Australian" EA80C. Top - "AA Select" Grade Solid Sitka Spruce. Back and Sides - Solid Blackwood. Neck - Select Queensland Maple. Controls - Volume, Bass, Treble, Mid and Frequency.

Luthier Report by Adam North Guitars. Headstock- Shows some very light markings in specific lighting. There is a small finish chip visible to the bass of the top side.

Neck- There are various indents to the finish which can be lightly felt in playing position but in my opinion do not greatly detract from overall playability. The fretboard shows some light wear. Body- There are various markings visible to the body, with light indents to the finish on the top, and scratches visible on the rear which are light.

There is some finish chipping, with one visible on the top of the guitar and the main ones visible to the rear edge binding, and one near the jack input. There are various small chips which are not significant in isolation. There is visible indentation to the frets. The new owner may wish to undertake fretwork to remove the indents, but this may need more invasive work than a fret level depending on how much height the new owner feels needs to be taken. Truss Rod & Bridge- Fully Functional and can be adjusted.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret- 2.5mm bass 1.5mm treble. Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height.

The setup can be adjusted to preference by the new owner. Strings on Guitar- 11 - 52. Electrics are in full working order.

The guitar shows visible markings which only really become apparent in specific lighting, so may not clearly show on the listing photos. The frets show wear but current playability from my experience is good but the new owner may feel the desire to undertake further fretwork. The truss rod can be adjusted, the guitar does not come with a truss rod tool adjuster. The guitar comes with a Hiscox hard case which shows some aesthetic markings and the internal pocket pouch shows some wear with the pouch needing to be placed before closing the case.
