These seldomly become available on the second-hand market, let alone in this condition, and with the original bespoke Yamaha-branded hard case (included in the asking price). Well looked after ever since. It is time to let it go to a new home. World-renowned guitarist Martin Taylor was not only one of my favourite jazz artists (and still is), he was also collaborating with Yamaha to design great-sounding guitars. Some technical facts: fixed rosewood bridge, flat spruce top, bolt-on maple neck, rosewood fretboard (20-frets fingerboard), nato back and sides.

The scale length is 24-3/4" (24.75" or 628.8mm). When unplugged, this guitar sounds loud-enough for practicing in a quiet room.

Naturally, it really comes to life when played through a semi-acoustic or a decent electric guitar amp. The tone can be adjusted via the discrete side-mounted 3-band equaliser slider controls. The active onboard electronics / pre-amp are powered by a 9V battery. Same setup as in the higher-end APX guitar range.

I only played with friends and family, mostly finger-picking style, occasionally with a pick. The front of the guitar has some light scratches where a pickguard would be mounted on an classic archtop (no deep gouges, just surface lacquer marks). The guitar's back is surprisingly unmarked. The woodwork is in excellent condition. I hope the pictures reflect how lovely the instrument looks in person.

The deep glossy shine on the entire black body offers a mirror-like finish, which tends to show dust particles and fingerprints. Always carry a microfiber towel with this guitar!

There are slight depressions / wear on a few metal frets, but nothing excessive. This does not affect the clarity of notes. The guitar is currently fitted with flatwound strings, which have a lovely smooth feel to the touch, and offer a dampened / quiet tone. They are old but have no pitting / rust on them. The trapeze brass tailpiece is slightly discoloured but there is no rusting or pitting either.
